Welcome to the home of ValveAudio. We are a small company, located in Melbourne Australia, specializing in hand built Pure Valve (Tube) Amplifiers.

We are dedicated to design and the production of High End pure valve amplifiers. They are meticulously constructed using the point to point method for componentry construction, to achieve the ultimate musical output.
We do not use printed circuit boards, as our philosophy and research shows that PCB do degrade the quality of audio output.
All components we use are of the highest quality, resistors, polypropylene capacitors, paper in oil coupling capacitors (in the signal path), and high temperature electrolytic capacitors for the power supply.
All Output transformers, Power transformers, and Chokes are Hand made In-House to ensure the best audio response.

We at ValveAudio, believe all our High End pure Valve Amplifiers, will stand the test of time for durability and trouble free high end audio listening pleasure.

Output Transformers
The output transformer is the heart of any valve (tube) amplifier.
Almost all valve amp. manufacturers purchase trannys from transformer winding companies.

Most manufactures use minimum size output transformers. The real reason for minimizing the output tranny size is to minimize the cost of making it. An inductance of 20 Henries is often insufficient. 40 Henries or higher is required for an output tranny to deliver full power below 40Hz.

Good Quality transformers are large in size and need to have:
A: Low winding losses.
B: Core saturation at full power, at around 15Hz.
C: Adequate Interleaving to extend the high frequency response up to at least 70kHz, by keeping both the leakage inductance and shunt capacitance to low quantities.
At ValveAudio we take all of the above into consideration when we design and wind our own output transformers In-House.
